Kampf’s days numbered, Kuznetsov linked to Leafs & More NHL – Rumors – The Hockey Writers NHL Rumors Latest News, Analysis and more

In today’s rumor rundown we look at David Kampf and how his days can be numbered with the Toronto Maple Leafs. Elsewhere, Evgeny Kuznetsov still looks at an NHL referee, and the Maple Leafs and Florida Panthers are interested in bringing him in. Finally, a Rasmus Andersson trade was close to the finish, but he was not willing to expand with the new team.

Kampf outside NHL -Line -Up, can be waived

Although in the past seasons Kampf have seen as a good fourth-line defending player for the Maple Leafs, his possibilities to get into the line-up can lie behind him.

Jonas Siegel of the Athletic spoke with Kampf, who remarked that he had expected a profession in the course of the summer and stated: “I certainly thought of (a profession) … I was ready for what could come, but nothing happened, so I am ready to show my best.”. Kampf’s role with the team decreased after the Acquisition of Scott Laughtonwho has taken the fourth rule center and the criminal spots of him. For $ 2.4 million, Kampf is not the easiest player to move, although he could erase exemptions.

In addition to Laughton, Ice Age from Kampf, Prospect Easton Cowen Vecht hard for a schedule, making the Bottom-Six even more competitive.

Siegel ends his report by saying: “Although Kämpf also has value as a depth at central ice, the front office can believe that they can slide it through exemptions. The contract of Kämpf, which has left a year after this at $ 2.4 million on the cap, is simply large enough to be unattractive, what a stint could be able to be.”

Kuznetsov linked to Maple Leafs, Panthers

While training camps continue to exist, Kuznetsov is still looking for an NHL contract. While Agent Shumi Babayev stated that many teams contacted, and rg.org reported that 10 or more teams were interested, although nothing has been signed yet. There was too a report That Kuznetsov was able to draw in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) with Metallurg, however, Babyev denied that report.

Daria Tuboltseva from RG.org now reports that Kuznetsov is waiting for the Maple Leafs to make a decision to sign him or not, while the Panthers remain an option.

For the Maple Leafs they already have Kampf, Cowen, Nicholas Robertson, Calle Jarnkrok and others who are all fighting for schedules. It would not be easy to fit Kuznetsov in the line -up, although he could be an upgrade in the middle of the third line for someone as mentioned.

For the Panthers, after the news that Aleksander Barkov was out for 7-9 months, many people started to wonder where the Panthers would look if they made an addition to the schedule. Kuznetsov plays a very different role than the Panthers from Barkov expecting, but if they came across Anton Lundell and Sam Bennett the line-up, Kuznetsov could very well fit in a third line with the club.

Rasmus Andersson trade falls through

Many hockey fans had their eyes on Andersson in low season and expected a trade to come through. Fans almost saw it happen, although Andersson was not willing to expand with the Los Angeles Kings, so the deal was not made.

In an episode of Hello hockeyInsider David Pagnotta revealed that there was a trade to go between flames and kings, but the fact that Andersson was not willing to throw a key in the plans there.

One of the common reports during the low season was that Andersson was only willing to close a deal with the Vegas Golden Knights, but he denied that himself. Although he did not deny that he wanted to go to Vegas, this was not the only one he wanted to do.

Pagnotta now reports that the Dallas stars are also in that mix. The stars have a complicated cap situation after signing Mikko Rantanen and Jason Robertson ready to sign a new deal. Bring in Andersson and fit it under the cap would be difficult, but not impossible.
