Kamer Marlowe proves night after night on stage that it is possible to drop weight and still get strength – both physically and musical.

This year, after scaling back after the show, Marlowe has found that other points of sale remain active during downtime on the road. The former outfielder digging in his high school athlete roots, now waves golf clubs for another healthy source of exercise. “Whether it went to the gym or picked up a number of golf clubs and went 18 or nine and walk, that’s a kind of what we’ve done here lately,” says Marlowe. “Just try to stay consistent in one thing, but Golf brings a little more structure for my day.”

Meal preparation became one of his keys, and it is a fixed part of a routine that he continues to implement during the tour. “Trying to prepare my food before I leave the road is a game change,” he says. “It makes a difference with the way I feel before I go on stage,” says Marlowe.

“That is as one of the best things I have found for myself is to try meal preparation. So I do a lot of that meat beef. To be honest, I now eat more meat beef than anything, just because I try to continue the amount of cow we have in the freezer.”

He admits that those numbers are solid, but every idea laughs that he might be one of the strongest of the country music. At home in Nashville, the singer works out at a local club in family ownership who is a quiet refuge of the busy chain gyms that attend most people. “There are not many people who go there. It’s like 12 people. I have my trainer and we are going to train and then call it a day.” There he spends at least four days a week devoted to a combination of strength training and conditioning – two elements that he thinks are crucial for entertainers to do their best versions, night after night.
Marlowe reluctantly says that his training has included slightly more running exercises in the routine. Although he does not train as a top athlete, the athletically designed sprint exercises helped him to maintain his conditioning on stage – especially his singing – for the long concert season.
“I run like crazy, just as much as I hate it. I do a lot of sprints, a lot of HIIT training,” he says. “If I go up and I explode on stage, or have a good time to run around, I can keep my breath in the neighborhood to keep for a long time.”
Sometimes all training in the world cannot make up for the elements. Marlowe admits that managing higher heights can be a challenge, such as during his recent performance in the famous Red Rocks amphitheater of Colorado, where the height can make a battle.
“I actually had one of those oxygen tins at the stage,” he says. “At Red Rocks, I had something like that, I sing some difficult songs tonight. I want to make sure I can touch the notes, so if I have to grab a small hit of that oxygen, I can take it very quickly.”

While athletics has physically and mentally helped at Kamon Marlowe for Nashville, it was his leap of the little Kannapolis, NC, to Los Angeles to participate in NBC’s The Voice in 2018 That turned out to be the real career -game changer.
“That is a kind of where everything in my life has switched,” says Marlowe. “It was such a cool chance. I had to go outside to see what is happening. I went to LA, met a couple of songwriters and then realized that this would be the coolest job in the world. Fortunately I moved to Nashville, and I was able to do it.”
After he has reached the top 24 of the show, Marlowe consistently closed the music graphs at the top. His debut track, “Giving you up”, has now reached Platinastatus. Earlier this year he dropped his third album, Sad songs for the soul, While his hit “Seventeen” is currently becoming wide airplay on Country Radio.
Although music has been one of the few constants in the busy schedule of Marlowe, quality sleep, on the other hand, remains a challenging tiring work in progress. With 28 stops that stay on his seventeen tour, including five in Europe, the rut of Touren is a constant battle for peace and fits in with training. In the Marlowe bus, Shute-Eye can be quite elusive because the space is a premium. “There are 12 bunk beds on the bus, and then I have a room in the back of the bus,” explains Marlowe. “My sleep never feels like really soothing, because I have the feeling that while we are driving and so on, we bounce.”
The effects of lack of sleep become clear as the Tour progresses. “On day 3 I am tired,” he admits. But when the lights go up, Marlowe is naturally strengthened, entertaining fans to the maximum with hits such as his newest, “Let the Lonely”, together with “cool you up”.
Marlowe helps to add some peace, has made consistent lifestyle changes, such as considerably reducing drinking after the show. Although part of the routine that follows more than 90 minutes, the reduction of drinks with fewer shots and other types of entertainment with alcohol, Marlowe says that he is better able to start the next day and be ready to get his training at a top level.
“I think I finally grew up,” he says. “I told myself, I don’t have to party every night. So why am I doing it? Plus, as soon as I turned 24, the hangovers hit five times harder. So I had to tame myself.”
For a new athletic outlet valve, Marlowe has returned to his athletic roots: Golf, which has become a healthy obsession. But as every golfer has learned, the sport is a long and frustrating lesson in humility. “For every good shot I would say that there are probably one or two duffs that happen,” he says. “I want to be so good at it, but I’m really not just. So I don’t know what it is, if it’s my competitive character, but trying to be better in Golf is as my challenge I have now imposed on myself.”
