September 11 – Series A Giants Juventus officially inaugurated their own Hall of Fame in the Juventus Museum this week, giving La Vecchia Signora a permanent house.
The ceremony in Turin had all the splendor that you would expect. President Gianluca Ferrero and Museum Head Paolo Garimberti revealed a project that is equal parts a history lesson and marketing structure.
The inaugural class is nothing less than a WHO’s who of the biggest players ever the black -white stripes, Gian Luigi Buffon, Alessandro del Piero, Michel Platini, Zindine Zidane, Dino Zoff, David Trezeguet, and of course, put on Roberto Baggio. Fifty names in total, each etched in the black and white carpet of the club.
Juventus, by taking this step, opening the door for other European giants to follow the example, making it an idea that is commonplace in the US, perhaps rising on the other side of the pond.
Garimberti zei: “Het Juventus Museum is altijd de thuisbasis geweest van onze fans, van ons heden, en van onze toekomst. For Juve, the Hall of Fame is more than nostalgia. It is about brand building, involvement of fans and creating a living project in which supporters will vote for future Inductes.
The Americans may have written the book about the Hall of Fame. But in Europe, Juventus is now writing a new, exciting chapter.
