Jake Knapp has already achieved a lot in his professional career. The 31-year-old noted his first PGA Tour victory at the Mexico of last year, and has a tendency to become low, with 12 rounds of 65 or better in 2025-where there was one ultra-not-59 at PGA National, long known as one of the most difficult tracks in the Tour.
“I don’t think I will be intimidated Super Easy by a second shot,” said Knapp in this week of Subpar’s episode. “I am never afraid to hit a flag. I am absolutely not afraid to play aggressively, Attack Golf.”
In addition to visiting the details of some of his low rounds, Knapp also discussed his view of the PGA Tour policy and shares his thoughts about the schedule of the Tour. As number 55 on the list of FedEx Cup points at the end of the FedEx St. Jude, Knapp is not automatically qualified for the nine characteristic events in 2026, but it is still possible in the first two characteristic events after the sentry if it stays in the Top 60 via the FedEx Cup Fall Series.
“Hopefully I will stay in the Top 60 next year, so I will keep at & t and Genesis, so that will be good, but yes, I mean, the Top 50 is huge,” Knapp hosts Knost and Drew Stoltz said. “Not just for planning your schedule, because then you can really choose what you play and not, you can get a bit strange if you play well. Not that it’s a bad thing, but then you’re in it – well, I take a regular week off or do I play seven in a row in this increased event? It’s much more difficult.
“And not to forget, if you can just play decent in two or three raised events halfway, it is ridiculous what it does,” Knapped continued. “Now they have changed the point structure and you get a lot of points if you have just ended up like top 12 or whatever it is. So a 10th or 11th in an increased event is as if you ended up 3rd in a regular event.”

Six of the nine characteristic events in 2026 will have no cuts, and they will all have raised wallets, making them mainly lucrative for players. But Knapp said he is not a fan of all the changes.
“You have one man who may have played his way in an raised event and then a kind of back doors as a 7th place and suddenly they are 11th on the point list and you are something like that, what has just happened?” Said Knapp. “So I don’t know. I don’t think there is a perfect system. I don’t think we’ve found it completely, and I think that’s why it changes so much from year to year. I just think we should like it, almost look and just renew everything and really look at what we do.”
