Julius Randle is without a doubt an important swing factor for the title of the Timberwolves

The first season of the Julius Randle experience for the Minnesota Timberwolves had its highlights and lows. Of course the Wolves finally walked down a conference final and Randle cried at an elite level in the first two rounds of the play -offs. However, Randle also performed poorly in the final of the conference, on average more sales (3.6) than assists (3), while he reduced his points per game average in the first two rounds from 23.9 to 17.4.

Randle struggled with consistency during his career. For a Wolves team with title ambitions, Randle who offers consistent second option production will be the key to the success of Minnesota. The wolves know that they can count on Anthony Edwards, but they need Randle to be consistent the entire season to maximize their title chances.

Consistency as a scorer and playmaker will be vital to Randle

Randle mainly offers scoring and secondary creation alongside Edwards. However, when Randle struggles, the wolves are not the same team. Including the play-offs, the wolves were only 3-5 when Randle scored one-digit points. To win a championship, you must have production at a high level and have consistent scoring of your second option. If Randle does not offer this, the wolves will have difficulty making a deep run, especially since Edwards receives a huge defense pressure in the play -offs.

We saw how dominant the wolves were in the first two rounds of the play -offs when Randle scored with a fast pace. Conversely, we saw how much they struggled when Randle took a step back against OKC. It is no coincidence that Randle won in that series in that series in that series, has deposited efficient 24 points.

While most people think of scoring when the name of Randle is raised, his game program is also vital for the success of the wolves. In the last 21 games in the regular season, De Wolves placed a 17-4 record and Randle on average 5.2 assists during this piece. Moreover, he had an average of 5.9 assists in the first two playoff rounds. When Randle plays at a high level, this changes the prospects of the wolves.

However, as noted earlier, Randle had on average only 3 assists and 3.6 turnover in the Western Conference Finals.

With the dilemma of the wolves of the wolves, Randle’s play options can be demonstrably just as crucial as his score. The Kentucky product is gifted enough to be a secondary playmaker, but as is apparent from the OKC series, he has to read the right one, even when the defense collapses on him. Despite his gifts as a passerby, Randle also had 13 games (regular season and play -offs) with more sales than assists. It is clear that the 6-foot-9 attacker is still struggling with decision-making, both as a playmaker and shot maker.

In general, Randle’s game is a huge swing factor in the title of the Wolves. If he offers a consistent secondary creation and game, Minnesota can be well positioned for a new deep play-off run, perhaps even a title run. However, if Randle cannot offer this consistent secondary creation and playmaking, the Wolves can stand in line for an early play -off exit.
