Juan Soto quietly puts together an MVP -Kalibe season.
The New York Mets Outfielder added to his impressive show on Tuesday when he hit 2-out-4 with a home run, a walk and a stolen base, a few points scored in the 12-5 victory of the Mets on the Detroit Tigers. Soto has a .259/.399/.524 battle line in his 610 plate performances, which hits 37 homers while driving in 91 runs and stealing 27 bases.
Sotos’s recent scorching rack has led to what can be one of the largest all-round seasons in MLB history. He has the chance to end the year with 40-plus homers, more than 30 stolen bases and more than 100 walks, RBI and scored runs. Only Two players in MLB history Have all five thresholds reached in the same season – San Francisco Giants -legend Barry Bonds (1996 and 1997) and Houston Astros Hall of Famer Jeff Bagwell (1997 and 1999).
Soto did not make a great first impression with the Mets. There were questions whether or not he wanted to go to Queens and regretted that he left the Yankees. Even with what was considered a slow start, Soto was still one of the best players in the Majors.
That slow start is far behind him. Soto has been one of the best hitters of Mets Since the beginning of AugustPlacing a .296/.454/.648 battle line over its 141 plate performances, 12 homers belts and 12 bases. Soto has easily overshadowed his career in Steals and has been as much catalyst in the line -up if he has been a run producer.
If he can stay hot for the last few weeks, Soto could hang his way to one of the best all-round seasons in the MLB history.
