The Selangor State Road Transport Department (JPJ) denied the spread of advertisements and hype on social media claiming that the public could get a driver’s license for free without having to undergo a valid test.
JPG Selangor managing director Azrin Borhan said his party took the allegations seriously, stressing that the advertisements in question contained false and misleading information, as well as fraudulent elements to deceive the public.
“The preliminary investigation revealed that the advertisement had used the photograph of Selangor State JPJ Director without permission, causing confusion among the public and affecting the credibility of the department.
“In this regard, the Selangor State JPJ would like to remind the public to always be vigilant and not be easily misled by offers or information regarding the granting of a driver’s license for free without a valid test,” he said in a statement.
At the same time, he also advised the public to always watch through the official JPJ channel to avoid falling victim to fraud.
