After the success of his OPS -Luxe in June and Ops Luxury 2.0 operation at the end of July, which resulted in the seizure of 101 and 53 luxury vehicles related to different traffic offices, the Road Transport Department (JPJ) performed another operation to do the same.

In the last OPS Luxury 3.0, which was carried out from 7 to 9 August, the department got its largest catch and grabbed 104 vehicles that belonged to both local and foreign owners, which brought the total to 258 from such vehicles. Among the vehicles seized in the final round are a Ferrari 458.

According to JPJ Senior enforcement director Muhammad Kifli Ma Hassan, of the 258 vehicles, 93 were seized in Kuala Lumpur, followed by Selangor (61), Penang (28), Sarawak (16) and Kelantan (15), de New Straits Times Reports.

He said that all vehicles were seized for the usual violations of traffic legislation, including having expired road tax (LKM), not a valid insurance coverage, which do not display non -registered number plates and various other technical violations.

He said that one of the seized cars, a Porsche 911, had been driven without a valid road tax since 2022, and that checks had shown that the estimated value of unpaid road tax for the vehicle was more than RM6,000 in the past three years.

As it was with the earlier operations, all seized vehicles were seized under the Road Transport Act 1987 (ACT 333) and relevant regulations and were held before they were returned to their owners as soon as they had renewed their road tax and insurance. He added that a total of 627 subpoenas since 1 July had been published for various violations.

Muhammad Kifli said that the department will not compromise with a party that does not meet laws of road transport, and that everyone who violates the rules will experience strong action.
