Jon Jones doesn’t sound too confident about his June 14 conversation with Alex Pereira.

Earlier this month, Pereira issued another call to ‘Bones’, and the latter responded, asking the Brazilian to be careful what he wishes for.

Poatan’ has not entered the octagon after regaining the light heavyweight title at UFC 320 by dismantling Magomed Ankalaev in Round 1 of the title rematch. After becoming a two-time 205-pound champion, Pereira teased a moving up to heavyweight to fight for a third title as he strives to become the first three-division champion. Jones, on the other hand, vacated his heavyweight championship last year after avoiding Tom Aspinall for months.

The UFC White House card, which has both fighters in their sights, is expected to feature numerous title fights.

Dana White, who was previously furious about Jones’ unreliability and his unwillingness to unify the titles with Tom Aspinall, opined earlier this month that he is interested in Jones versus Pereira. However, White doesn’t know if he can count on Jones.

The UFC began matchmaking for the White House card immediately after UFC 324 and plans to finalize its fighter lineup in the second week of February. And now Jon Jones says he’s not so sure he’ll face the Brazilian knockout artist on June 14.

Jon Jones is ready, but unsure if he will return to the octagon

In an interview with The Schmo, Jon Jones confessed that he’s not so sure he’ll face ‘Poatan’. However, he is doing what it takes to be ready and in shape to fight in the White House.

“I don’t really know what’s going to happen. I’m taking it day by day, some things are just out of my control… I feel blessed, whether I fight again or not, I feel great.”

On the other hand, Alex Pereira’s recent training clips suggest he is ready to move up to 265 pounds.

That said, there are also rumors that UFC heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall, who is recovering from a serious eye injury, may be stripped or asked to leave as his return could take much longer than expected, bringing the division to a standstill.

If Aspinall leaves, ‘Bones’ and ‘Poatan’ could fight for the undisputed heavyweight championship on the South Lawn of the White House.
