Johnson & Johnson Medtech The launch of the Polyphone AI Fund for Surgery announced in collaboration with a coalition of companies, including Nvidia and Amazon Web Services (AWS), to invest in projects and research that promote AI-enabled surgical innovation.
The fund will focus on supporting the development of AI models, AI -Governance and Data Engineering and Management.
Initially, the Fund will use Johnson & Johnson’s QuickFire challenge, its crowdsourcing platform, to collect applications and granting fairs from academic and non-academic institutions, developers, startups, researchers and established companies.
The Awardes receive financial help, as well as resources and mentorship, including developer workshops and programs at J&J Medtech, Nvidia and AWS Technologies.
Johnson & Johnson Medtech, Nvidia and AWS will select the Awardes.
“The program is intended to mobilize until 2026, including subsidy finance from Johnson & Johnson Medtech and/or access to computer tools, tech stacks, solutions and conforming datasets from Johnson & Johnson Medtech and her partner network,” said Johnson & Johnson in a statement.
The larger trend
The fund builds on Johnson & Johnson Medtech and Nvidia’s Previous cooperation, announced last year, to accelerate the analysis of surgical data via the polyphone digital ecosystem.
The companies signed a memorandum of agreement to accelerate AI innovations for J&J’s surgical technologies portfolio with the NVIDIA health care platform.
The partnership was aimed at further AI innovations for operating rooms, tackling challenges related to surgical learning and skill, data privacy and the automation of surgical data enrichment, as well as improving efficiency in research and development.
