Jitesh played a crucial role in RCB’s championship-winning IPL 2025 campaign, producing several cameos and a brilliant 85 off 33 balls against Lucknow Super Giants while chasing 227. His ability to dominate bowling attacks in pressure situations strengthened RCB’s middle order, leading to his retention before the following season. He carried that momentum into domestic cricket too, scoring a 75 with a strike rate of over 220 in the 2025-2026 Vijay Hazare Trophy, for his new state, Baroda.
During an exclusive chat with CricTracker, when asked to name his best wicketkeepers of all time, Jitesh picked players from different eras. His first choice was former Australian Adam Gilchrist, who remains Australia’s record holder for wicketkeeping dismissals in Tests (416) and ODIs (472).
His next choice was none other than the legendary MS Dhoni, who holds the record for most stumpings in ODIs (123) and most dismissals in T20Is (91), making him the most successful Indian goalkeeper across all formats. Wriddhiman Saha, the second Indian on the list, is known for his glovework. Notably, Saha holds the Indian record for most dismissals in a single Test match (10) and is among the elite Indian goalkeepers with over 100 Test dismissals. South African Mark Boucher is also on Jitesh’s list.
The former holds the record for most international dismissals (998) and most catches by a wicketkeeper (952). Finally, he went on to join Zimbabwean legend Andy Flower to complete the list, who is remembered not only for over 300 international dismissals but also for being the only wicketkeeper to average over 50 in Test cricket.
