Jini’s personalized WiFi-free healing retreat

Jini’s personalized WiFi-free healing retreat

I’m feeling super exhausted from extreme stress – which started with Covid suppression, then two deaths in the family, a violent/angry family member (abuse/assault), buying and setting up a 160 acre off-grid ranch by myselfbusiness stressors (rates, layoffs, reorganization, increased compliance/regulations, deadlines, etc.), extended separation from my husband because he had to be in the UK to support our youngest son and then his 91 year old mother – and after working for five years, my body delivered an ultimatum!

Me on my beautiful but challenging ranch!

Remembering a previous collapse…

I’ve been to this place once before and I didn’t listen in time. I had a toddler and was breastfeeding my six month old daughter, without any help/support/family, and I collapsed from dehydration and exhaustion, went into shock and became unconscious. At that moment my husband called an ambulance. It took seven bags of electrolyte salt to rehydrate me at the hospital and then I went home.

BUT my mom came the next day to help me out for a few weeks, and I hired someone to cook and clean 3x a week (even though we couldn’t afford it and had to go into debt to pay her). And I slowly worked my way back to my health.

Preventing a new hospital visit

So yes, I know what this extremely decrepit, you’re-gonna-collapse-if-you-don’t-have-help state feels like, and I do NOT need to be rushed to the hospital for electrolytes again!

I immediately increased my fluid intake and added weight Muscle matrix electrolyte mixture to every glass of water and herbal tea I drank. That’s when I started looking for some kind of residential healing retreat center. So I didn’t have to take care of animals or people and could only concentrate on myself.

WiFi Free Healing Retreat

But the thing is, after two days of thorough research, I could only find ONE healing retreat that doesn’t have WiFi in the accommodations! Okay yes, there were two others on the planet – one in Peru (too far) and one in Costa Rica (mosquitoes and I don’t jibe).

When I get exhausted, I become very sensitive to EMR (electromagnetic radiation). My house is a WiFi-free zone and I have been blogging about this health hazard for over a decade, but about most of the world – even healing centers! – to be unaware or ignorant.

Thank God for my friend Jeremiahan electrical engineer and an EMR expert, who had already given us his list of favorite hot springs with little/no WiFi in California. Of course, I looked for healing resorts without WiFi in Hawaii or Mexico, but no, no luck.

Harbin Hot Springs in Northern California

One of those hot springs – Harbin in Northern California – Jeromy’s list also includes a large menu of healing therapies that you can book at the same time, while staying in cottages that do NOT have WIFI. Yay!!

Harbin also has current natural spring water (not chlorinated) in their hot springs. I find the hot/cold plunge pools or saunas very helpful. AND they offer one great list of healing therapies.

Healing therapies offered

These are the ones I had planned during my stay:

WHO IN THE TSANG:

Gentle, deep massage of the abdomen to ‘train’ the internal abdominal organs so they can function more efficiently and improve physical and emotional well-being.

CRANIOSACRAL

The focus is on promoting the movement of fluids in and around the central nervous system, with the aim of improving the body’s natural healing abilities. Uses a very light touch to release tension around your body’s connective tissue network, the fascia. This can ease pain and release both emotional and physical stress and tension.

LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE

A form of gentle massage that stimulates the drainage of lymph nodes and the movement of lymphatic fluid through the body.

PRIVATE SOUND BATH

Includes instructions for maintaining a successful meditation practice. Experience the restorative power of a private Chakra Balancing Sound Bath, enhanced with crystals and Tibetan singing bowls, tuning forks and mantra chants that promote the inner harmony of body and mind.

Singing bowls up close. Relaxation and meditation. Alternative medicine. Tibetan and Himalayan singing bowls. Make a sound

THE ROSEN METHOD

Uses touch and movement to release tension in the body and promote deeper awareness of the felt experience. The techniques go beyond the physical level and help individuals connect with hidden emotions and experiences.

ACUPUNCTURE

Chinese medicine that promotes general health and disease prevention by adjusting the flow of energy through a person’s bioenergy system. The primary treatment involves the insertion and manipulation of fine needles at specific points on the patient’s body. A session may include other Eastern medicine techniques such as herbal medicine, Moxa (burning herbs to heat the acupuncture points) and cupping (using suction to draw out toxins and release stagnation).

BREEMA

Focuses on energy balance in the body and mind, while connecting with our own natural vital energies to promote well-being. This is achieved through a combination of nurturing touch, guided stretches, supported postures and rhythmic movements.

AQUA QI

A mantra-based transcendental guided meditation, which takes place in water, and enhanced with Tibetan and crystal singing bowls and mantra chants.

SPIRITUAL COACHING

A mantra-based transcendental guided meditation, which takes place in water, and enhanced with Tibetan and crystal singing bowls and mantra chants.

SPIRITUAL HYPNOSIS

A tailor-made hypnosis session designed to address your needs, concerns and your heart’s intentions for wellness and empowerment.

Is this healing retreat experience cheap?

No sir. The house was $1628/week and the healing therapies averaged $200/session. Is it worth the money? You bet!

Unfortunately, I didn’t end up going because I live in a remote location and Harbin is in a remote location, so getting there would have been a travel nightmare involving multiple flights and two full days of driving. UGH. That didn’t work for me. Especially when I’m already exhausted.

But I still wanted to publish this post and information in case any of you are already in the US or California and looking for a great healing spa experience.

What I would take with me…

If I had gone to Harbin, I would have brought my healing supplements:

quik plus formulations from imix nutrition

This way, I could have continued on a semi-elemental diet and high doses of probiotics during my stay at Harbin Hot Springs and Healing Resort.

Healing goes beyond physical

Keep in mind that I had already been on a semi-elemental diet for a month, along with lots of rest, journaling, and bodywork therapies (craniosacral, chiropractic, massage) before I planned to go to the Harbin Healing Resort. Yet this wasn’t enough – it wasn’t enough to give my body what it needed to reset and heal.

Why? Because the main cause of my imbalance was stress! And as long as I stayed with all my stressors, stressful relationships and responsibilities, my nervous system couldn’t relax, my adrenal glands couldn’t relax, and my physical body couldn’t heal.

I had booked an Intuitive Coaching session with Rebecca Barry and she suggested I go on a healing retreat – ALONE – and just focus on myself. She also gave me great insights into the roots of my stressors so that I could bring them forward in the healing sessions in Harbin.

It turns out I was doing my intensive healing work at home, booked with a Somatic Experiencing coach, along with multiple sessions with Jen Snow – a very talented, versatile healing facilitator. I also flew my mother in to cook for me and hired a permanent cleaning lady. I arranged a lot of support so that I didn’t have to do anything around the house or on the ranch.

Finally, I booked in with my naturopath (Dr. Scott Tyler who I did a podcast with on thyroid health and hormones) to have my blood work done to test my thyroid and hemoglobin. Two things that historically go low when I’m stressed. This way I could address my healing on all levels.

One day I hope to visit Harbin for its restorative healing experience. Jeromy says the best houses for the healthiest EMF, magnetic and EMR levels are houses #10 and #11. He tests with at least 3-5 professional meters. If you go, be sure to let me know how it was!
