Glen Craven on Jilliby Ballerini was content to let her sit one four back, while Gotfeelingsyouknow was allowed to dictate the terms of the pace.
Only when she went into the back straight on the last occasion did Craven let Jilliby Ballerini go and she effortlessly moved down the field to advance to Gotfeelingsyouknow. Jilliby Ballerini quickly reached the front and strode free and not outstretched, she beat a brave Gotfeelingsyouknow by yards, while Bennie And The Jets took up a lot of ground to please a very credible third.
Although she lives in the shadow of her illustrious stablemate Keayang Zahara, there’s no doubt that Jilliby Ballerini isn’t that far behind. After an unsuccessful trip to New Zealand at the end of last year, she made a spectacular return in the Cranbourne Trotters Cup on January 3.

In her Bendigo Cup win, Jilliby Ballerini ran 2.01.1 for the 2760m run and ran her final two quarters in 28.1 and 28.8 seconds respectively.
One assumes that Jilliby Ballerini will eventually have to face Keayang Zahara and while no one is suggesting she could beat her, Jilliby Ballerini will certainly test her heart wherever she competes.
