NEWS: The 2026 NHL Heritage Classic will take place on October 25 between the Canadiens and Jets at the 32,000-seat Princess Auto Stadium in Winnipeg, home of the CFL’s Blue Bombers. #GoHabsGo #GoJetsGo
Fun fact: The original CT puck drop at 2 p.m. was delayed two hours because players were concerned about glare from sunlight.
The weekend also included the Heritage Classic Alumni Game on October 22, where former Jets and Oilers stars took the ice. Winnipeg won a 6-5 thriller, capped off by Teemu Selanne scoring the game winner, his second of the afternoon, on a penalty shot with just four seconds left, beating Curtis Joseph.
No matter the game, the Heritage Classic has a way of bringing old fans, new fans and even casual viewers together for a uniquely Canadian hockey experience. And with Montreal coming to town in 2026, Winnipeg is ready for another great weekend in the outdoors.
