Jet lead guitarist Mark Wilson has sold the house at 505 Brunswick St, Fitzroy North.

Australian rock ‘n’ roll royalty, bassist Mark Wilson of rock band Jet, has parted ways with his Fitzroy North home for $1.81 million.

Wilson has been playing in the music group for more than twenty years along with his fellow members, brothers Nic and Chris Cester, and Cameron Muncey.

Jet’s 2003 album Get Born went to number one in Australia and the single Are You Gonna Be My Girl reached the Australian and UK top 20 charts, plus the US top 30.

Jet’s musicians played together from 2002 to 2012 and then went their separate ways before reforming several times since, including Get Born’s 20th anniversary tour in 2023.

That same year the band was inducted into the ARIA Hall Of Fame.

Wilson is also part of the Antipodean Rock Collective, alongside Spiderbait’s Kram, You Am I’s Davey Lane and Powderfinger’s Darren Middleton, which has toured with songs by the Beatles and Pink Floyd.

Wilson last month listed his storefront patio at 505 Brunswick St. at a range of $1.7 million-$1.8 million.

The house from around 1891 has a studio, garage and garden.

The main floor consists of a living area, powder room and dining room with custom wooden chairs and table.

A kitchen with Neff appliances and double café windows, which open onto a barbecue terrace with a bar and the landscaped garden, complete the lower level.

An original staircase leads to the upper floor with three bedrooms, 3.3 meter high ceilings and a bathroom with terrazzo floor.

Above the garage is a combined bedroom and studio, where there is also a bathroom and a laundry room.

Records and memorabilia hang on the walls.

Jellis Craig Inner North posted the cool house on his socials, saying: “Mark Wilson, lead guitarist of iconic Australian rock band Jet, has called this house his own for a decade, transforming it along the way.”

“With thoughtful renovations, a purpose-built studio and garage and versatile living spaces, this stylish retreat is ready for its next chapter,” the release said.

Records show Wilson paid $1.12 million for the home before renovating it in 2018.

Lee Muddle and Angus Greene of Jellis Craig led the home’s latest sales campaign, which resulted in the house changing hands for $1.81 million on November 29, according to realestate.com.au.
