Round 2 – Wells opened the round with a body kick and quickly got his offense flowing, landing combinations on Gorimbo after absorbing a back kick. After a minute of eye-catching exchanges, Gorimbo shot for a takedown, but nearly fell in a choke attempt along the way.
Gorimbo defended and completed the takedown and settled on top, but Wells quickly exploded back to his feet. Gorimbo immediately fired again and had to fend off another submission attempt before the action started again.
Wells picked up the pace, landing clean shots as Gorimbo tried to answer, before Wells timed a powerful two-leg takedown to plant him on the mat. Fatigue was starting to show in Gorimbo after his repeated wrestling efforts, and Wells took advantage by chasing an arm-triangle choke.
Gorimbo used the fence well to defend, but Wells switched to mount with less than a minute to go. Gorimbo tried to shake him off, but Wells kept his cool and returned to top control to end the round in a dominant position.
Round 3 – Both fighters entered the third visibly tired, but Wells seemed to have more left in the tank and opened up with heavy shots on Gorimbo before being taken down. Wells threatened with a guillotine on the way down, but lost control, allowing Gorimbo to briefly settle into top position.
Wells made his way to the fence and attacked another submission attempt, using it to get back to his feet. He then darted in for his own takedown, advancing to mount and again looking for an arm-triangle choke, though he couldn’t lock it up.
Wells dragged Gorimbo back down in a tussle and maintained control, repeatedly prioritizing submission attempts over ground-and-pound.
The round ended with Wells in top position, with landing attacks underscoring a strong finish.
