The Utah Jazz granted Jordan Clarkson the opportunity to play for a competition when they refrain from this season. Clarkson came to the Knicks almost immediately as soon as he cleaned up exemptions. By doing this, the jazz not only gave him the chance to fight again, but did something he wanted to do: playing with Jalen Brunson.
During his appearance on the podcast of Brunson and Josh Hart, “Moommates Show”, which was reported by Stefan Bondy of the New York PostClarkson revealed that although he wanted to play for the home crowd of the Knicks, but also added that he wanted to play with Brunson.
“The Arena (Madison Square Garden), frankly,” said Clarkson. “Feel the energy of the fans. Knowing that they let you get it when you play (expletive). But if you play great, it’s all love. At the end of the day I just want to feel the energy. Go play with you (Brunson and Heart).”
Brunson himself added that he and Clarkson had spoken in the past and said, “I’m not going to say when, but I and Jordan talked about this a while ago.”
Clarkson and Brunson want to work together
At first glance it may seem like a small overlap between Brunson and Clarkson, but it makes sense why they would like to work together.
The Careers of Clarkson and Brunson are somewhat similar in the fact that they have become two of the more striking second round trekking samples in recent memory because of their skills to score. Brunson went a little further in his career, but the similarities are certain, and now they are teammates.
The earlier success of the Jazz -Aluin with someone like Brunson can also take into account why they wanted to play together. Clarkson has seen a lot of success playing scoring protectors – see Mitchell, Donovan – and although Brunson may not be the same player as Mitchell, he is of the same caliber.
The Knicks are in an excellent position to reach the NBA final. The last two Eastern Conference teams who represent it in the NBA final are for De Graaf -the Celtics and Pacers -who opens the door for New York to return to their first NBA final.
The Jazz gave Clarkson the chance to win a title. It is a pity that Clarkson has no longer had the opportunity to do that in Utah, but it is cool to see him again in the Big Apple and to work with someone he wanted to play in the process.
