Jasmine Shekar got her 2026 Hero Women’s Pro Golf Tour season off to a flying start with victory at the Bombay Presidency Golf Club on Thursday.
The 20-year-old from Bangalore completed a wire-to-wire victory, producing the best card of the week – a bogey-free 5 under par 65 to win by four strokes against Ridhima Diawari.
With rounds of 67, 70 and 65, Jasmine achieved a total of 8-under 202 after starting the day two shots ahead of Ridhima (67).
The winner was the only player to card par or better on all three days of the Rs 17 lakh event on the par-70 course.
Jasmine received a winner’s check of Rs.2.30 lakh, Ridhima earned Rs.1.70 lakh, while third-placed Lavanya Jadon took home Rs.1.40 lakh.
It was Jasmine’s fourth win on the Hero WPG Tour since turning pro in 2023. She won twice in 2024 and once in 2025 and has now opened the 2026 season in convincing fashion. \
Steady increase
The result also highlighted Jasmine’s progress since turning pro. She finished sixth on the Order of Merit in her rookie year in 2023, was fifth in 2024 and third last year.
Amateur Zara Anand (69), one of three players with an below-par score on the final day, came third after rounds of 73-69-69 with 1 over 211.
Lavanya Jadon (72) was fourth at 2 over 212 and another amateur Kashika Misra (71) was fifth at 5 over 215.
Jahanvi Bakshi, who has found her way back after being sidelined due to an injury, continued her journey with an excellent T6 alongside Ananya Datar (71).
Saanvi Somu (71), who finished second four times as an amateur, made her professional debut this week and finished in a tie for eighth place in the top 10, together with the experienced Amandeep Drall (75).
Shweta Mansingh (69) and Shagun Narain (74) rounded out the Top 10 at 219.
Former Order of Merit winner Sneha Singh finished a disappointing 12th with rounds of 72-72-76 for a 220.
The second leg of the Tour will be played at Kalhaar Blues & Greens in Ahmedabad from January 21 to 23.
