Lotus celebrates its rich racing history in the Netherlands.
This Year’s Formula 1 Dutch Grand Prix is fast approaching, Taking the World’s Most Intense and Prestigious Racing Series to the Beach Town of Zandvoort Since Returned to the F1 Calendar in 2021 After-Get Hiatus Since 1985. Lotus, a manufacturer that has its legacy on motorsport success, and whose futuristic luxury performance vehicles, Sports cars and hypercars are inspired by racing legends from the past.
With six victories on the circuit, Lotus is one of the most successful manufacturers in Zandvoort, such as legends such as Mario Andretti and Jim Clark won in the circuit in 1978 and 1963, 1964, 1965 and 1967, respectively. A year after Andretti’s victory in Zandvoort in 1978, driver Jan Lammers tested one Lotus Type 79 -chassis on the circuit in an attempt to earn a place in the Formula 1 team.
46 years later, the Dutch racing administrator was reunited with the car he tested on the circuit in 1979 and used the historical Lotus Type 79 for a number of laps as he did on the Zandvoort -Track -killing earlier. Moreover, Lammers also drove the incredible flagship Electric Hypercar from Lotus: The Eija.
With around 2,000 hp, the Evija has enormous power and engineering aimed at pure performance due to its electric powertrain. Jan Lammers, both the glorious past and the exciting new innovations of the brand, is a reunion of Jan Lammers in Zandvoort, a celebration of the history of the Dutch Grand Prix and the worshiped heritage of Lotus as a racing -not and a manufacturer.
