Tata Open runner-up Shubham Jaglan scored the best score of the day to open a one-shot lead on the penultimate day of the PGTI’s Qualifying School 2026 Final Stage in Ahmedabad on Thursday.

The 21-year-old from Delhi, who finished second twice last year, shot a 3-under-par 69 to reach a total of 4-under 212 after round three at the Kensville Golf & Country Club, the PGTI said.

The now Gurgaon-based Jaglan (72-71-69), who made his PGTI debut last November, climbed from a tie for second place overnight with one of only two sub-par scores of the day in windy conditions.

Round two leader Jhared Hack (70-70-73) of the USA was in second place at 3-under 213.

Sixteen-year-old Kartik Singh (75), Jujhar Singh (74) and Rohit Baisoya (76) shared third place at 4 over 220.

Early struggle

Former India No. 1 junior Shubham Jaglan, who was three shots off the lead at the start of the day, struggled to find the greens on his first five holes.

However, solid chipping and putting helped him make good par saves at this stage.

Jaglan’s play started from the seventh hole as he took four birdies against a single bogey on that one, thanks to top-class tee shots and putting.

Playing at the PGTI Q School for the first time, Jaglan said: “My performances last year gave me a lot of confidence and momentum heading into this week’s final qualifying stage.

“My game is in top form and my swing feels good. Looking ahead to the final round, I want to keep doing what I’m doing.

“It is important that I remained very patient all week and did not let bad shots and bad swings influence me too much. A top performance this week would be the ideal start to the season.”

At the end of round four, the top 47 players will earn their full cards for the 2026 PGTI season.
