The Jaecoo J7 now comes standard with an accessory package, Omoda | Jaecoo Malaysia announced this via its social media channels. This only applies to the AWD variant and apparently there are conditions attached to this. Currently, the locally assembled J7 AWD without on-road insurance costs RM153,800.
The accessories included in the package are a side tool box and electric side steps. The former is actually part of the J7’s accessories catalog and costs RM2,000, while the latter costs RM5,800.
Other available accessories include a hard shell side canopy (RM2,600), tactical boxes (RM3,000), a roof rack (RM5,800) and side ladder (RM1,500). It is worth pointing out that on Omoda | Jaecoo Malaysia’s official website lists a ‘Package A’ for the J7, which retails for RM7,500 and includes the side toolbox and electric side steps. There is also ‘Package B’ for RM10,000, which includes the roof rack, side case and side canopy.
The AWD version of the J7 is powered by a 1.6-liter turbocharged inline-four gasoline engine that produces 197 PS (194 PS or 145 kW) and 290 Nm of torque. Combined with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and all-wheel drive, a 0-100 km/h time of 9.9 seconds and a top speed of 180 km/h are possible.
A set of 19-inch ‘Aurora’ wheels, automatic LED headlights, 64-colour ambient lighting, a panoramic sunroof, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 14.8-inch infotainment touchscreen, a 50-watt wireless charging pad, seven driving modes, an eight-speaker Sony audio system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a head-up display and ADAS suite are all standard equipment.
