Fox News Senior White House Correspondent Jacqui Heinrich is expanding her duties by hosting ‘The Sunday briefing’ on Fox News Channel.

This Sunday is an important milestone for Jacqui Heinrich, the senior white house correspondent from Fox News Channel, while making her debut as the rotating anchor of the network New weekend program, Sunday briefing. The show was launched last weekend by Heinrich’s partner at the White House, Peter Doocy-Een not only represents a new chapter in Heinrich’s career, but also an opportunity for Heinrich and Doocy to experiment and reform how political news is delivered to a changing audience.
“I am still a bit tired,” Heinrich told me from the White House and described her exhausting travel schedule in recent weeks, including stops in the UK and Arizona, where she treated the treated Death of Charlie Kirk. “But (I am) very enthusiastic about this new and exciting show. I think it will be great.”

The show, says Heinrich, is being built ‘from the ground’, in an attempt to reach viewers who can get their news as much from Tiktok as from networks such as Fox News. “There is so much to cover and so many large headlines – you can take the show in many different directions,” she told me, without revealing any surprises in store for her debut Sunday. “We have a few irons in the fire, but we will contact you about what the plan is once it is deposited in stone.”
When Heinrich is looking to make a Splash with an interview with newspapers on Sunday, she cut her work for her after Doocy President Donald Trump had landed for his first guest. The president gave Doocy-Son of Lang Fox & Friends Co-host Steve Doocy-a bit of advice about organizing the new show: “I can honestly say, just be yourself. You have done it great. Your father is very proud of you. He has been a friend of mine for a long time, and you are absolutely his son,” Trump said. “I look at you, there is no doubt about that, but just be yourself. Keep doing the work you do. You are doing great.”
Tell the unprecedented stories of the Trump Witte Huis
Heinrich sees Sunday briefing As a unique opportunity to give viewers a deeper insight into this moment in history, when a president and his administration moves with a breathtaking speech to not only reform what is happening in the White House, but also the entire government.
“There is a lot that we do in the White House that you don’t see on TV,” Heinrich said. “There are conversations that we have with people to try to give an insight into why policy comes together, which played a role in the idea, or how they intend to defend it.”
She believes that the show will give her the space to bring those insights behind the scenes. “Beating the White House touches everything,” Heinrich said. “There is no shortage of ideas in terms of what we can put forward.”
Launch on cable news, with a view to digital and social
One of the ambitions of the Heinrich with the new show is to connect traditional cable viewers with a younger, digital-native audience. Heinrich described the program as a ‘next-gen show’, who repeated an expression of her colleague Peter Doocy. “I think it’s both,” she said when I asked if the goal was to attract younger viewers to television or meet where they are online. ‘You could get in touch with an audience online and say:’ What are you curious about this week? ‘Or take the content of the channel and bring it to your app or social media in a way that teases what awaits us or generates new viewers. “

She called FOX News Foreign Correspondent Trey Yingst as a model for this type of platform -dependent involvement. “Trey has a huge audience on Tiktok, where he brings bullet-point news to that audience and then brings them to the canal to view the in-depth report,” Heinrich told me. “We all have to investigate how to do that better, because the traditional structure of media consumption in this ever -changing landscape is.”
No formula, only flexibility
Without giving away much, Heinrich told me Sunday briefing Will not follow a rigid format. “We want to get away from a formula,” she said. “People tend to coordinate if they know what to expect.” Instead, the show will be flexible enough to follow the news cycle (especially the fire hose news from Washington) and to be open to experiments. “Trying something new means that you are doing different things,” she said. “I can’t tell you that it will be the same every weekend.”
She also hinted at the possibility of bringing new votes, such as podcasters, or exploring trending subjects in unconventional ways. “Is it that you go on a podcast to promote the show? Is it that you get a podcaster that is in the news to get to the show?” she said. “It will differ from week to week.”
Ask questions, but deserve respect from an always looking Trump
What is it like for Heinrich to report out of the White House every day, knowing that the president-famous addicted to watching hours of cable news every day-to-see his feelings about journalists in real-time on social media? “My job is to collect the facts and to present them completely, reasonably, completely honestly,” Heinrich said. “As long as I do that, I feel very good about everything else.”
She is no stranger to the challenges of treating a president who is known for his combative relationship with the press. “I was in the fire line of this president myself,” she said, and noticed that the president was not satisfied with comments she made about Trump’s top meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, whom she described as “extremely productive”.
But it was the description of Heinrich of a bizarre “news conference” with Putin and Trump who made the president angry. Note that despite the fact that reporters would be told that both men would accept questions, the men would give short comments and walked away.

“The way it felt in the room was not good. It seemed that things were not going well, and it seemed that Putin came in and steamed, immediately got into what he wanted to say and got his photo next to the president and then left,” she said.
“He placed social (after that report) that I would be better off at CNN,” Heinrich told me. But she doesn’t go anywhere. “I have now promoted – this is my fourth promotion with this network since the last elections.”
Heinrich said that “she receives nothing but support” from Fox News and “has received more means to do more work”. She added: ‘I don’t think you can think about it [criticism] And do it at the same time, fair work. “
Sunday briefing Will be broadcast on the FOX News channel on Sunday morning at 11:00 am.
