Jack Wilshere appointed new manager of Luton Town

Jack Wilshere has said being appointed manager of Luton Town is ‘probably the proudest moment of my career’.

The former England midfielder has been appointed as League One’s new manager, tasked with reviving their fortunes after successive relegations.

Wilshere, who is stepping into senior management for the first time after spells as Arsenal’s U-18 manager and as first-team coach at Norwich City, spent time at Luton’s academy before moving to Arsenal as a nine-year-old.

He admitted he has kept a close eye on The Hatters ever since and is delighted to be given the opportunity at Kenilworth Road.

“It is a huge honor and privilege to be appointed manager of Luton Town,” Wilshere said on the club’s official website.

“It feels like a full-circle moment for me. I was eight when I first came to Luton as a boy, so you could say it’s fate that my first full-time managerial role is at this club.”

“The story of this club inspires me. Built on faith, unity and hard work.

“The club has shown incredible character both on and off the field in recent times, and I am honored to lead and take responsibility for leading this group into the future.”
