Jack della Maddalena only needs one tool to beat Islam Makhachev.
In May, Della Maddalena scored a unanimous decision victory at Belal Muhammad to claim the undisputed Welterweight World Championship. Immediately afterwards Makhachev announced that he was leaving his lightweight crown and went up as the first hunter to challenged ‘JDM’ for his 170 pound belt.
As it looks now, the ‘Dagestani Destroyer’ is a considerable favorite to beat Della Maddalena, with some sports books that mention him as high as a favorite of 4 to 1.
However, not everyone agrees with those opportunities.
Looking ahead to the long -awaited title of Welterweight title, former UFC star Chael Sonnen believes that the Aussie Makhachev can beat by using a very specific maneuver.
“There is only one movement, which is a double leg,” Sonnen said His YouTube channel. “Now there is another position that is known as a Body Slot, and there are different options from there, and there are ways to do it. I mean, just to ruin the great code of wrestling, if someone ever places you in a body slot and you don’t like it, you feel that they are stronger – everything you have to do is no longer in a body finalizing.
“The suggestion that Jack della Maddalena, our reigning champion of the world, cannot defend technology, not to mention a 155-ponder, it is a great insult and it is possible if you go out there and you repeat that insult, you have to realize how incredibly difficult it is to be correct.”
So far, no official announcement has been made, although recent rumors suggest that Della Maddalena vs. Makhachev will lead the annual pit stop of the UFC in Madison Square Garden in November.
