The Italian tactician recently left Chelsea and Romano has once again stated that Manchester City considers him as an option if Pep Guardiola leaves the club.
Romano, however, speaks of his YouTube channelalso made it clear that Guardiola has not yet made a decision on his future.
So it’s difficult to know if and when Maresca could end up at the Etihad Stadium, while the links to Man Utd don’t seem to be anything concrete.

Discussing some reports from Italy about Maresca, Romano said: “Despite all the questions I get about Enzo Maresca and Manchester United, he is being linked in Italy with a possible role at Manchester United.
“At the moment I hear guys that Manchester City are interested in Enzo Maresca for the future.
“As I have always told you, it is not something that is imminent. It is not something that is guaranteed. It is something for the future if Enzo Maresca will be available as manager when Pep Guardiola decides to leave. But Pep has not decided anything at this stage. So Man City has an interest in it.”
“From Manchester United the message is a different kind of coach for the summer, not a coach for now. This is why the links from Italy with Maresca taking over the Manchester United job immediately is something that I have been told is not concrete at all at this stage.”
“Man United will take the time to get the process started and try to understand who the best possible manager is for the 2026-2027 season.”
Is Enzo Maresca the right manager for United or City?
Maresca didn’t win over everyone during his time at Chelsea, but he got the team playing good football and delivered big trophies in the form of the Europa Conference League and the Club World Cup.
However, he is inexperienced compared to Guardiola, so that would be a tough job for him after the Spaniard’s immense success with the Sky Blues.
United, meanwhile, don’t appear to have a strong interest in Maresca, judging by Romano’s comments, and they could perhaps aim a little higher.
