IU Football Falls in AP Poll, Coaches Poll next week one win against Oude Dominion

IU Football’s 27-14 victory against Old Dominion in week one, De Hoisiers moved in both polls that were released on Monday afternoon.

The less than expected permanent margin of only 13 points against the princes, IU harm in the polls released before week two. De Hoosiers entered the season opener of Saturday as a 24 -point favorite.

In his Monday press conference, Curt Cignetti said that his team “left 35 points on the field” in victory.

“I will never apologize for a victory,” said Cignetti. “They are too difficult to get. The same team that should have defeated South Carolina in the opener last year. (We) really dominated the game. Not reflected in the score.”

In the US LBM Coaches Poll, Iu fell two places from No. 19 to no. 21.

Big Ten programs prior to the Hoosiers in the Poll coaches are Ohio State (no. 1), Penn State (no. 2), Oregon (no. 5), Illinois (no. 12) and Michigan (no. 13). USC, Iowa, Nebraska and Washington all received votes.

And in the Associated Press Top 25 PollDe Hoosiers fell three places from no. 20 to no. 23.

Big Ten programs prior to the Hoosiers in the Poll coaches are Ohio State (no. 1), Penn State (no. 2), Oregon (no. 6), Illinois (no. 11) and Michigan (no. 15). USC and Nebraska received votes.

The first university football ranking – who will determine who will play for the National Championship – will not be released until Tuesday 4 November at 8 p.m.

Indiana is back in action against Kennesaw State in Memorial Stadium on Saturday afternoon. The kick -off is set for afternoon et fs1.
