The International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) is pleased to announce the appointment of Pablo Perez, ITTF Para Table Tennis Events and Classification Manager, to the APSO Classification Commission (ACC).
The newly formed ACC consists of six classification experts from various international federations, whereby both extensive representation and operational efficiency are guaranteed. The committee will provide expert advice on matters with regard to para-sport classification, promoting cross-sport cooperation and the exchange of best practices. Important objectives regularly include evaluation of the current classification, performing educational workshops and initiating studies that tackle relevant medical, scientific and operational issues.
Perez brings extensive experience in the role, with supervision of the Para table tennis events and classification at the highest level, including the ITTF World Para Circuit, the World Para Championships and the last two Paralympic Games. Prior to his current position at ITTF, Perez also served as a coach of the Spanish Para table Tennis National Team, International Classificator and Classification Course Curider.
APSO was founded in 2017 and represents 21 international federations and sports organizations, which jointly argue for the interests of Paralympic sports and athletes.
The ACC has been officially approved by the APSO council of administration and comprises, next to Perez, Craig Carscadden, World Cillication Sport Head of Development, Simon Goodey, World Rowing Para Rowing Commission Member, Rabia Gulcin, Fis Para Snow Sportification Coordinator, SHAAXSIFY COACSSIFY COAMCHANSLE, and Isabella Zens, Ucici -Codination Coordinator.
The ITTF congratulates Pablo Perez on his appointment and looks forward to promoting classification practices within the Paralympic movement.
