Melania Trump has raised the plight of children in Ukraine and Russia in a personal letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin, said two officials of the White House.
Trump delivered his wife’s letter to Putin by hand during their top conversations in Alaska, the officials told the Reuters news agency. Melania Trump was not traveling to Alaska.
The American Attorney General Pam Bondi shared a copy of the letter written by the First Lady on August 16 in a message about the social media platform X.
In the letter, the First Lady spoke to the need to cherish and protect children: “We have to strive to paint a worthy-filled world for everyone every soul can wake up to peace, and so that the future itself is perfectly monitored”.

“When protecting the innocence of these children, you will do more than just serve Russia – you serve humanity itself.

Putin is confronted with a detention warrant of the International Criminal Court on the alleged illegal deportation of Ukrainian children to Russia.
Ukraine has brought the abductions of tens of thousands of children who have been brought to Russia or Russian territory without the permission of family or guardians a war crime that meets the definition of the UN Treaty of Genocide.
The Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zenskyy transferred his gratitude to the First Lady on his call with Trump on Saturday, the Foreign Minister of Ukraine said.
“This is a real act of humanism,” Andrii Sybiha added to X.

Moscow has previously said that it protects vulnerable children against a war zone.

The Human Rights Office of the United Nations has said that Russia has admitted millions of Ukrainian children and has violated their rights since the full invasion of Ukraine in 2022.
Trump and Putin met each other for almost three hours on an American military base in Anchorage without reaching a striking -bogging in the war in Ukraine.
