Islam Makhachev has spoken candidly about why he wants to be part of the UFC White House Card.
In a recent interview with Arena Fight TVthe UFC welterweight champion discussed many different things related to his MMA career. At one point during the sitdown, when wondering why he wants to be part of the White House card, Makhachev confessed that he has made enough money fighting and now he wants his name etched in the history books by being part of the June 14 card.
The White House card is being called a “once-in-a-lifetime” event and several UFC stars want to be a part of it. The promotion has started finalizing its lineup for June 14, and more news is expected soon.
Islam Makhachev said about why he wants to be part of the June 14 card:
“I’m telling the UFC I’ll be ready soon. I want to be in the White House because it will be a one-off, and I want to be in history.”
He added:
“I’ve already earned good money, enough for my family. Now I have everything… Now I train every day, still hungry, still fighting, still wanting to be a champion.”

Ali Abdelaziz says Islam Makhachev’s next fight will be against a real welterweight
At this point, it has been proven that Ali Abdelaziz doesn’t care about Ilia Topuria’s plans to become the first fighter to capture a third UFC title.
Recently, the MMA manager posted on X, clarifying that Islam Makhachev’s next fight will be against a real welterweight and not Topuria. However, Abdelaziz also said that if Makhachev vs. Topuria were to happen, it will be the 34-year-old who will decide when and where he wants to fight ‘El Matador’.
“If Islam wants to give Topuria this shout, then he will be the one to choose where and when, but Islam’s next fight will certainly be against a real welterweight”
