With Mumbai Indians being the clear outlier, here is the ranking and rating of all 10 teams regarding their best foreign players for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026.

Year after year, the Indian Premier League witnesses some of the superstars overseas players across the world, and the year 2026 seems no different. From players like Jos Buttler and Phil Salt of England, to Travis Head and Camero Green of Australia, to Nicholas Pooran and Sunil Narine of the West Indies, to Heinrich Klaasen and Dewald Brevis of South Africa, and many more, the list of high-quality foreign players in the tournament is endless.

This shows that the tournament is filled with some of the great global talent in the competition, making this competition truly global. Each team has 7 to 8 foreign players in the squad, and of these players, four are usually their best buy, as they form part of the core of the playing 11, and the others are usually backups. Well, it’s a very interesting question. So, to arrive at the rankings and rating, we look at the cumulative rating of the top four foreign players for each, and the 3-4 backups in the team. The rating is an aggregate with the four best foreign players receiving a higher rating and the backups receiving a slightly lower weight. So, with the final cumulative rating of 10, each team is ranked 1-10 with respect to their Overseas player for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026.
