Divi 5 is far away from its predecessor. We have turned Divi into a web design powerhouse, with new functions such as Flexbox, advanced units, presets and design variables. CSS Grid is the next big step forward.
At the same time, we do not want existing users to feel lost or buried in new institutions. We have found the right balance between giving advanced users the necessary tools, while Rasterlayouts make accessible to beginners.

The great thing about the use of grater templates is that the schedule is controlled at container level and if you add new items, they automatically meet the grid. It is much more intuitive and unlocks a new variety of designs.

If you are a seasoned CSS -Breed -Expert, Divi Net Options will not stop you. You can immediately get to the point, define your column and driving grilles manually and create different grider outs with offset processing, which I will touch later.

Raster offset editing
One of the most unique aspects of Divi 5’s Grid Builder is the offset editor, which you can use to make repeating non-symmetrical grid patterns at container level. Let me give you a real-world example.
I made a blog template in the video below with the runner of Divi 5; Each column is a loophem filled with dynamic content. When I switch on the grid layout style on the upper container, the columns automatically meet the grid.
I can adjust the number of columns, enter adapted column or ripe patterns, change the gap sizes and do many other things.
Moreover, I can use the offset editor to apply rules to specific items in the grid.
Instead of a standard column pattern that repeats on any row, I can make offset patterns by, for example, having two columns each 4th item, starting with the second and third item. These offset patterns give the pre -built driving templates of Divi 5 so much variation.

CSS Grid for Divi 5 is available today and is one of the many functions that come to Divi this year.
You can follow as we continue through the final release of Divi 5 and then, with updates every two weeks. Depending on your priorities, you can now use Divi 5 to build new websites or wait until we add more functions, which works best for you.
As set out in the original release schedule of Divi 5, the Divi 5 Public Alpha is as “Divi 5 Lite”. It is missing a few functions and may not be suitable for existing websites, but it is ready to be used on new websites if you prefer the experience above Divi 4.

Have you tried adapted attributes for Divi 5?
