Introduction of adapted attributes for Divi 5

Introduction of adapted attributes for Divi 5

Today we release custom attributes for DIVI 5, with which you can add any characteristic, such as alt, title, riot and Aria label, to elements and most sub-elements.

Divi has had support for specific characteristics, such as class and ID, but now you can add any characteristic to any element. This is especially important for accessibility, so that you can, for example, add alt text to images and roles and labels to non-Semantic elements such as a button-based button.

Other attributes, such as anchor coupling goals or data attributes for custom applications, are also useful!

Watch the following video to see the new function in action. 👇

Add each feature to each element

You will notice a new attributes option group on the advanced tab of all elements, which is your new interface for managing all types of attributes.

Add a characteristic, select a target element and give it a name and value. It is that simple!

All elements support the addition of attributes to the main settlement. In addition, most content elements that are defined in the content tab of each module also support adapted attributes.

Use adapted attributes to improve accessibility

Attributes play an essential role in accessibility. Although Divi can add basic characteristics for elements, it cannot always predict how you will use each module or the content of each element on your page. With the new system for adapted attributes you can always define the characteristics you need to ensure that screen readers can understand your content.

For example, you can use the Divi interaction system to build a custom pop-up, including an icon module that serves as the Close button. In that case you can use adapted attributes to give that icon a role and an area label, where screen readers are told that your icon element is a button that closes the pop-up.

Abolish old attribute institutions

This new attributes Option Group manages all attributes. All other attribute -related settings are outdated and are automatically migrated to the new system.

For example, if you have previously added a class or ID using the Legacy CSS Class & ID option, those attributes appear as list items in the new attributes option group.

Have you tried the new responsive editor of Divi 5?

In case you missed it, we recently released the new responsive editor for Divi 5.

With this editor you can quickly view, change and reset the responsive, glider and sticky situations for each setting while you are in every display mode.

In Divi 5 you get the best of both worlds: natural, intuitive operation, where all changes that are made in a certain display mode apply automatically, and the new responsive editor, with which you can quickly make changes to all states at any time.
