Insurance broker Edme (formerly Aditya Birla Insurance Brokers), who has recently taken over reinsurance intermediary UIB -insurance brokers India, focuses on a 25% composed annual growth percentage (CAGR) in the next three to four years, said Gaurav Gpta Brokers.
The company currently places £ 5,000 crore in premiums per year and has a top line of around £ 850 crore. As part of his international expansion, Edme is planning to go to Dubai and Singapore within a year, followed by London in the following year. The company wants to become the first Indian multinational broker in this space.
“We will continue a mix of organic and inorganic growth in these financial hubs, starting with reinsurance treaties,” shared Jonika Jain, Chief Human Resource Officer.
Expansion at home
In his own country, Edme, already present in 20 Indian cities, plans to deepen penetration in the North, Northeast and southern markets past Chennai and Bengaluru. The company is also preparing for a potential IPO within the next five years, tailored to its long -term growth. “Our clear goal is to come forward as the number one insurance broker in India, and to be recognized as a leading multinational broker,” Gupta said.
Talent retirement
Today, the company employs more than 500 people and, according to Jain, expects to double the workforce to more than 1,000 within three years. Hiring will focus on sector -specific talent in special lines and retail.
