Boston (WHDH) – Passengers on board the Norwegian Aqua cruise ship took a detour on their way to Bermuda Tuesday, who register for the day in Boston due to heavy weather near the island. Hurricane Humberto and Tropical Storm Imelda continue to threaten the area through the Atlantic Ocean.
Many people on the ship said they try to get the most out of their experience.
“I think it’s fine, I feel bad for the people in Bermuda who are hit by Hurricanes,” said William Dulmage, a passenger who visits from New York. “I am still on a cruise drinking and eating and I have a good time.”
The stop of the ship in Boston was not the only one with a destination change.
A spokesperson for the Norwegian cruiselijn told 7News: “The safety and security of our guests, crew and the communities that we visit are always a top priority. Because of the projected paths of Tropical Storm Imelda and Hurricane Humberto in the Atlantic Ocean, the routes for Norwegian Aqua and Norwegian and Norwegian and Norwegian and Norwegian and Norwegian and Norwegian and Norwegian and Norwegian and Norwegian and Norwegian and Norwegian and Norwegian and Norwegian and Norwegian and Norwegian and Norwegian and Norwegian and Norwegian and Norwegian and Norwegian and Norwegian and Norwegian and Norwegian and Norwegian” “
Although passengers understand that the cruise line cannot control the weather, many said they cannot understand why they were not told about the detour before. One passenger said they were not told until the morning that they arrived at the cruise terminal in Manhattan. Others said they didn’t know until they came to the ship.
“The line of the guest services was so long because everyone wanted to scream about it,” said Allison Dezi, who visits from Connecticut.
Many passengers come from the northeast, so the destination does not feel as exciting as the tropics, but many said they will still get the most out of their vacation.
“Just a bit like:” Hey, we’re going on a new adventure, we’re going to find out what happens when we get to every new place, “said James Sullivan, who visits from New York.
“She is out of school for a week, we are working for a week, so it will be so nice,” said Nicole Sullivan, who also visits from the Empire State.
“I’m very close to work, I’m not going inside!” Said Jocelyn Smith from Massachusetts.
Passengers said so far that they have received a 10 percent discount from their next trip, but they hope that the Norwegian cruise company will offer a little more towards the end of the trip.
