The Knicks appeared in the final of the Eastern Conference in the Play -Offs of 2025. Unfortunately they lost in six games of the Pacers. Head coach Tom Thibodeau was fired and Mike Brown was hired as his replacement. Before he was canned, Thibodeau changed into the starting line -up. Mitchell Robinson started in the middle. NBA insider Zach Lowe reported that he believes that New York will start the 2025-26 season with Robinson as their starter.
How many games will Mitchell Robinson start for the Knicks in 2025-26?
In the second round of the NBA design of 2018, the Knicks selected Mitchell Robinson from Texas. He played all seven of his professional seasons for New York. Robinson played in 337 games and has made 199 starts. His career-high for played games is 72 in 2021-22, together with 62 Starts that season. Since then, the highest total of Robinson has been 59 games in 2022-23. In the past three seasons, Robinson has missed a lot of time due to an injury.
Multiple single operations in 2023-24 limited Robinson to only 17 games for the Knicks in 2024-25. Mitchell Robinson missed the first 58 games of the season and made his debut at the beginning of May. Because of the Play -Offs, Robinson was again full health and played at a high level for the Knicks. Before Tom Thibodeau was fired, he started Mitchell Robinson in the last four late season of New York.

NBA insider Zach Lowe believes that the Knicks Robinson can hold in the starting line-up for the 2025-26 season. Lowe predicts that first-year Knicks-head coach Mike Brown Mitchell Robinson starts. If that is true, Josh Hart would probably come from the bank. This would enable Karl-Anthony cities to play PF. Just like he did alongside Rudy Gobert when he was with the Timberwolves.
The Knicks could survive in the regular season 2024-25 with cities as a starting center. His defensive defects, however, were the target of opposite teams in the play -offs. New York saw more success when Mitchell Robinson started next to Karl-Anthony Towns. These changes happened too late and the knicks lost in the late season. Given that New York has more depth in 2025-26, they could always adjust the starting line-up if Robinson struggled.
