Australia’s football darling, Matildas captain Sam Kerr, started the new year in spectacular fashion, marrying fellow football star Kristie Mewis at a breathtaking Venetian-style villa in Perth’s picturesque Swan Valley.

But beyond the star-studded guest list and emotional yeses, it’s the property itself – a beautiful estate whose value has increased by millions – that has really captured the nation’s attention.

The Dionysus Villa, a beautiful five-bedroom country house nestled among Western Australia’s finest vineyards, provided the carefully chosen backdrop for the highly anticipated New Year’s Eve wedding.

While the couple kept the location a secret, guests were seen arriving at the luxurious estate, just a 30-minute drive northeast of Perth’s CBD, according to reports The Daily Mail.

According to realestate.com.au, the architectural masterpiece, built in 1976, last sold in 2021 for an eye-watering sum of between $2,785,000 and $3,240,000.

A staggering figure, especially when you consider that it sold for just $626,000 in 2001.

That’s a potential increase of more than $2.6 million in just twenty years, making it a real estate investment dream.

Kristie Mewis revealed on the ‘Mewis Squared’ podcast that the couple fell in love with the villa almost two years ago, shortly after their engagement.

She also hinted at extensive renovations since the last sale, calling it “absolutely stunning” and “everything we wanted from it.”

Stretching over seven hectares, the Dionysus Villa is a testament to grandeur and meticulous design.

The property sold in 2021, with RealEstate.com reporting that the villa, which was built in 1976, sold for between $2,785,000 and $3,240,000.

Inside, the luxury continues.

The main living areas feature embossed ceilings, elegant chandeliers and beautiful Italian marble details.
