The United States of America cricket team hinted at the storm early in the first innings when Ali Khan forced Abhishek Sharma out with a golden duck. Although, with a very deep batting order packed with proven T20 batters, fans were hoping for a turnaround. In reality it was a hurricane caused by American bowlers.

Things turned from bad to worse for the Men in Blue when they lost three men in a row in the sixth over. The 37-year-old medium pacer Shadley van Schalkwyk turned into a leader with the ball.

The experienced pacer picked up the wickets of Ishan Kishan, Tilak Varma and Shivam Dube one by one. Varma and Dube went for two consecutive deliveries. Like Abhishek Sharma, the all-rounder also returned empty-handed without scoring a single run.
With four departures, the pressure was on the shoulders of skipper Suryakumar Yadav and Rinku Singh. Like most Indian batters in today’s match, Singh also disappointed the fans; Hardik Pandya did the same: he came and went.
At writing time, with Suryakumar Yadav and Axar Patel in the middle, India are 116 for 6. Yadav is approaching another half-century T20I.
Social media platform ‘X’ is overflowing with reactions from shocked Indian cricket fans. “OMG!!!!! Just look at the scoreboard and what’s going on with #IndianTeam????,” an ‘X’ user wrote in a post. While some saw the opportunity to mock the Indian batting line-up and compare it with Pakistan’s. “Indian batsmen get inspired by Pakistani batsmen,” said a netizen.
