India creates a gigantic record after pounding the VAE in Asia Cup 2025

India started the defense of their Asia Cup title with a pounding 9-wicket victory over the VAE in Dubai on Wednesday (September 10). The men in blue completely surpassed the home team to go a winning start in the current Asia Cup 2025.

The defending champion threw the VAE for a meager total of 57 points in 14 overs.

Vae was a stable start with their openers Alishan Sharafu and Muhammad Wasem added 26 points for the opening wicket. Once the standard was broken, the locks opened and the VAE were bent for only 57 points.

They were on 47/2 in one stage before they lost eight wickets for just 10 runs. Sharafu (22) and Wasem (19) were the only batters of the VAE who reached double digits, while no other player could score more than 3.

Kuldeep Yadav causes destruction

For the visitors, the left-arm spinner Kuldeep Yadav played with the ball and took 4 wickets for only 7 points in 2.1 overs. Allrounder Shivam Dube was also impressed by the ball and took 3 wickets for just 4 runs in 2 overs.

With the bat, the team guided by Suryakumar Yadav in just 4.3 overs. Abhishek Sharma hit the first two balls of the chase for a six and four to give the team a flying start.

The opener hit two more sixes and one four to score 30 points before he was fired by Junaid Siddique with 10 points needed. Shubman Gill and Suryakumar Yadav then took the team over the line.
