These issues were discussed at a Joint Committee meeting under the CEPA (Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement) between India and the UAE.
CEPA is a type of free trade agreement (FTA).
“The two sides conducted a comprehensive review of progress under CEPA and detailed discussions were held on market access issues, data sharing, Gold TRQ (tariff quota) allocation, anti-dumping matters, services, rules of origin and BIS licensing,” the report said.
The Indian side also informed the UAE about their recent decision to allocate gold TRQ through a transparent competitive bidding process.
The two sides also deliberated on enhancing regulatory cooperation in the pharmaceutical sector, resolving issues related to certificates of origin and early signing of the MoU on food safety and technical requirements between the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), India and the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, UAE.
Bilateral trade has exceeded $100 billion in 2024-2025, an increase of 19.6 percent from 2023-2024.
The two have set a goal to increase trade in non-oil and non-precious metals to $100 billion by 2030.
