Shubman Gill and Hardik Pandya, who were both away from international action, will mark their return to the side after successful recoveries. Gill was particularly bothered by a neck sprain, which he dealt with during the recent Test against the Proteas in Calcutta. On the other hand, Hardik Pandya was away from the national team after being struck by an injury during the triumphant 2025 Asia Cup.
Hardik recently made headlines after returning to 20-over cricket with a match for Baroda in the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy 2025, as the star all-rounder delivered a massive blow in his team’s win. However, Gill’s participation in the series is subject to obtaining the fitness approval from the BCCI Center of Excellence (CoE).
Talking about the other members of the Suryakumar Yadav-led team, the opening order features dashing left-hander and currently No. 1 T20I batsman Abhishek Sharma. Shivam Dube, Axar Patel and Washington Sundar are the names besides Pandya, who will look after the all-rounders department. Jitesh Sharma and Sanju Samson are the wicketkeepers, while Tilak Varma is also in the mix.
The bowlers include Harshit Rana, Jasprit Bumrah and Arshdeep Singh who look after the pace department, besides Varun Chakravarthy and Kuldeep Yadav as the frontline spinners.
