India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) President Asaduddin Owaisi on Friday (October 17, 2025) met Congress candidate Naveen Yadav – who filed his nomination to contest the Jubilee Hills Assembly by-election – during a visit to Shaikpet area.
Speaking to the media, Mr Owaisi said he advised Mr Yadav to be inclusive and bring people from all communities that constitute the over 3.98 lakh voters in the constituency. He said every ward in Jubilee Hills was facing issues related to civil infrastructure that required attention.
The parliamentarian from Hyderabad reiterated that his party would not contest the by-elections. He added that the outcome of the by-elections would have no direct impact on the Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy-led Congress government as the results would neither lead to its formation nor its fall.
At a recent public meeting, Mr Owaisi had urged voters to make a “good decision” and support a young local candidate.
He reiterated his criticism of former Jubilee Hills legislator, late Maganti Gopinath, claiming that despite the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) having been in power for a decade, the constituency had seen little development and an opportunity to improve civic amenities had been wasted.
