Harshit Rana, who made his T20I debut in January 2025, has been an integral part of India’s white-ball setup across formats and has been named in the 15-man squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup on home soil. This tournament presents a huge opportunity for the Delhi-born player to cement his place in the national team and contribute to India’s title defense.

After making his debut in 2024, he has shown real pace and wicket-taking ability despite facing heavy trolling on social media.

Meanwhile, former wicketkeeper Partiv Patel surprised everyone when he left out Harshit from his starting India XI for the upcoming World Cup. He stated that he would like to start with Jasprit Bumrah and Arshdeep Singh.

“My 11th players for the first match are Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan, Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma at number 3 and number 4, then Shivam Dube, Hardik Pandya, Rinku Singh and Axar Patel,” the former Indian wicketkeeper-batsman said on Star Sports.

“Then Arshdeep Singh, Jasprit Bumrah and Varun Chakaravarthy. That will be my 11th player. I would like to have both Arshdeep Singh and Jasprit Bumrah there,” he concluded.

India will take on USA in their opening match on February 7 at the Wankhede Stadium.
