A result resulting from the search for a new language, undertaken by Burri in the aftermath of the Second World War, lived firsthand as a medical officer, prisoner in Africa and then to Hereford in Texas, and who became an independent artist.
The fall of the Olgiati collection is dominated by research into the subject, investigated in his several expressive methods. “Prampolini Burri. Van de Zaak” It is the title of the path that from September 21 to January 11, the two artists protagonists of a project set up by Mario Botta, published by Gabriella Belli and Bruno Corà, organized in collaboration with the Burri Foundation of Città di Castello in Lugano.

From the powerful and polyimateric works of Prampolini to the powerful of Burri, the 50 masterpieces that are exhibited come from prestigious international public and private collections. As a prampolini – eclectic futurist and contact with the most important European avant -garde – all the potential of polygrades in 1914, Burri, who represents the second half of the twentieth century in the exhibition, proposes the case in the most radical poetic key.

After the experiments with the most diverse materials – from tar to pumice, from gold to chalk – the artist uses fire in the forming action of the work.
