The legendary cricket player Sunil Gavaskar was overwhelmed and not to be words, because his life -size statue was unveiled on Saturday in the iconic shaky stage of Mumbai. The opportunity registered the inauguration of the MCA Sharad Pawar Cricket Museum, unveiled with the statue of the former India captain in addition to that of former BCCI and ICC president Sharad Pawar. The museum will open to the public on September 22.
Gavaskar was considered one of the largest opening internships in cricket history and became the first player in history that scored 10,000 points in Test Cricket, a milestone he reached against Pakistan in Ahmedabad in 1987. Gavaskar expressed his emotions after seeing his life -sized statue and devoted the honor to his career with Mumbai Cicket.
“I am actually not knowing words, because I am overwhelmed by this unique honor. It is not everyone that there is a statue just outside the museum where there will be so much more footing. The Mumbai Cricket Association, I said in the past, is like my mother, (it would have been my hand when I started with the school of the school, and a bombing schools. Dreamed that this would come for this. This is an honor for everyone with whom I played cricket in my Bhagirathi building (during childhood in the Tardeo van Mumbai), then at school level, at the club (level), in the Ranji Trophy team and in Test Cricket, Gavask says.
Dadar Union has taught me so much: Gavaskar
The museum will also display two valued caps of Gavaskar, one from Mumbai and the other of Dadar Union Sports Club, the last to have a special place in his heart. He remembered that he was wearing that cap during the famous test victory of India from 1981 at Australia in Melbourne when Kapil Dev bowed through pain to achieve a remarkable victory.
“Dadar Union heeft me zoveel geleerd over het feit dat het spel groter is dan het individu, (en) dat je het spel niet als vanzelfsprekend beschouwt, (en) dat je moet blijven teruggeven aan de game. Maar die cap was gedragen op de dag dat we Australië verslaan in 1981 (door 59 runs in de derde test op 1980-81 tour) toen hij in Melbournes kwam (5. Hij was de derde test op de derde test op de derde test On 1980-81) when he had five wickets (5/28). That is the reason that I was not wearing that cap that day the India-Pet-because they had to score about 60-80 points and then they had lost three wickets, “he added.
