Assists the men’s and women’s head coaches in running successful tennis programs that compete as NCAA Division III programs and as members of the University Athletic Association (UAA). This includes practice and game coaching, recruiting student-athletes on a position sheet
The Assistant Coach is responsible for assisting with various coaching, management and administrative duties of the tennis program as assigned by the Head Coach. The Assistant Coach is responsible for performing all duties or activities with integrity and within the rules of the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA), the Missouri Valley Conference and/or Missouri Valley Football Conference (MVC or MVFC), the State of Illinois, Illinois State University and the Athletics Department.

This is a part-time, fixed-date position for approximately 18 hours per week, with hours varying based on workload and business needs. ending on April 30, 2026.
Salary rate/wage rate
$8,000
Required qualifications
1. Bachelor’s degree
2. Proven ability to recruit, train, teach and develop high-level tennis student-athletes.
3. Proven successful college coaching experience.
Preferred qualifications
1. Master’s degree
2. Minimum one (1) year of experience coaching tennis at the collegiate level
Working hours
Approximately 18 hours per week, with hours varying depending on workload and business needs.
Functional expectations
Must be able to complete the following, with or without reasonable accommodation:
1. Stay at a workplace for a longer period of time
2. Move to various locations on and off campus as necessary to complete the day’s work
3. Communicate effectively on a daily basis
