Ihuk – Statement: Incident on social media – Ice Hockey UK

Ice Hockey UK condemns strong racist and discriminatory comments on social media after an Elite League match. This behavior is completely unacceptable and is directly contradicted to the core values of our sport.

We are with our counterparts at Scottish Ice Hockey, England Ice Hockey and the Elite League to make it absolutely clear: racism, homophobia and any form of discriminatory or hateful behavior are not tolerated online, in our ice rinks or British ice hockey associated everywhere.

We are proud to be a diverse, inclusive and hospitable community where players, employees, officials and fans from all backgrounds can enjoy the sport.

Everyone who deals with racist, homophobic or offensive behavior will experience the strongest possible sanctions in our sport.

In this case, the person concerned received a lifelong prohibition from the relevant arena and the case has been reported to the right authorities.

We remain strongly dedicated to offering a safe, respectful and hospitable environment for everyone. Hate has no place in ice hockey or anywhere else.

We thank our supporters and the wider hockey community for maintaining these values.
