The IceHogs then took an early 1-0 lead Martin Misiak bumped into a loose puck near the back post at 7:22. Less than a minute later, Justin Robidas passed his spot Drew Commisso of the slot to level the game.
Chicago took a 2-1 lead on a power-play goal from the near circle off Bradly Nadeau’s stick. Rockford’s 4th line had an answer in the offensive zone. Connor Mylymok fed Dillon Boucher at the back post that cleared the puck by Chicago’s Amir Miftakhov.

In the 2nd period, Rem Pitlick fired in a goal from the slot for the second night in a row to give the Hogs a 3-2 lead. But once again the Wolves struck back with Noel Gunler wiring a wrister as they cut through the zone.
Pitlick converted his second of the night at 4:47 of the 3, after Miftakhov gave the puck straight to the Rockford forward for a 4-3 lead. Chicago’s top line went back to work and Justin Robidas converted a give-and-go with Ronan Seeley to put the Wolves back on level terms with ten minutes remaining in regulation.
With four minutes remaining, Suzuki scored the go-ahead goal for a clean win in Chicago. Trailing 5-4, Rockford pulled the goaltender for the extra attacker. After Samuel Savoy‘S shot resulted in a rebound, Cavan Fitzgerald stormed down the flank and equalized at 5-5.
After a scoreless overtime period, Pitlick scored the only goal in the shootout, giving Rockford two points and the 6-5 win.
