The International Cricket Council (ICC) is preparing to take strict disciplinary measures against the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for several violations Asia Cup 2025 In Dubai.
PCB accused of multiple infringements during Asia Cup 2025
The infringements include postponing a planned match, unauthorized filming in limited areas and making misleading public statements regarding match referee Andy Pycroft.
The controversy began for the Pakistan group A match against the United Arab Emirates (VAE), where PCB allowed his media manager to film in the Players and Match Officials Area (PMOA). The video, which Kapitein Salman Ali Agha, team manager Naved Akram Cheema, head coach Mike Hesson and referee Andy Pycroft showed in a meeting, was later distributed on social media. ICC regulations prohibit strictly filming within the PMOA.
Furthermore, Pakistan delayed the start of the same match almost an hour after they instructed players not to leave their hotel. The protest was the result of the decision of ICC not to suspend Pycroft after the handshake row Between India and Pakistan earlier in the tournament.
PCB added fuel to the controversy and claimed that Pycroft had issued a formal apology, a statement that was later contradicted by ICC officials.
ICC sends a formal notification to PCB
According to reports, ICC CEO Sanjog Gupta has sent a formal notification to the PCB, with reference to repeated breaches of behavior and disruption of tournament protocols. The disciplinary procedures are underway, with possible sanctions, including heavy fines and additional measures.

The ICC emphasized that delays in accumulating schedules, infringements of the media protocol and the public wrong representation of official matters are not tolerated. Research is underway into PCB’s statements, social media activities and the events surrounding the delayed match of the VAE.
The sequence of events comes back to the heated group A collision of Pakistan with India. During the Worp, the Indian skipper Suryakumar Yadav kept shaking hands with Salman Ali Agha, in a gesture connected to the honor of victims of Pahalgam’s terror attack. PCB accused Pycroft to make the situation wrong and insisted on his removal. However, the ICC has assessed the case and released the referee of misconduct.
With repeated breaches of the protocol now registered, the disciplinary committee of ICC is expected to announce strict action against Pakistan in the coming days. The developments have further stretched the atmosphere of the tournament, whereby the cricket on the field with controversies is overshadowed outside the field.
