On Sunday, March 1, the Men in Blue crushed the two-time champions West Indies by runs to clinch the final semi-final spot of the ongoing 2026 T20 World Cup.
Now, India, South Africa, England and New Zealand will battle it out to reach the top match for the ultimate championship.

Dates of the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup
The first semi-final of the current tournament will be played on Wednesday, March 4, while the second semi-final is scheduled for Thursday, March 5.

The iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata will host the first semi-final of the 2026 T20 World Cup, while the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai will host the second semi-final of the mega event.

England’s T20 World Cup 2026 journey
England have qualified for the semi-finals of the 2026 T20 World Cup after their stellar show in the Super 8 stage. In the group stage, England recorded narrow wins over Nepal, Italy and Scotland before facing a 30-run loss to the West Indies.
But in the Super 8 round, England won all three matches and finished first in Group 2. They defeated Sri Lanka by 51 runs, Pakistan by 2 wickets and New Zealand by 4 wickets to reach the top four.

New Zealand T20 World Cup 2026 tour
New Zealand qualified for the semi-finals after finishing second in Super 8 Group 2 after Pakistan failed to beat its Net Run Rate during their five-run win over Sri Lanka. They won three of the four group matches, beating Afghanistan, UAE and Canada, losing only to South Africa.
In the Super 8 round, New Zealand’s first match against Pakistan was wiped out, but they then made a stunning comeback to beat Sri Lanka by 61 runs, although they suffered a narrow defeat to England.
South Africa’s T20 World Cup 2026 journey
South Africa stormed into the semi-finals with a perfect record. The Proteas have not lost a single match so far and are looking very much in pursuit of their first-ever T20 World Cup title.
In the group stage they finished top by winning all four matches against New Zealand, Afghanistan, Canada and the UAE. In the Super 8 stage (Group 1), they continued their winning run, defeating India, West Indies and Zimbabwe to maintain a 100% winning record.
India’s T20 World Cup 2026 journey
India dominated the group stage and finished top of Group A with 4 wins from 4 matches. However, in the Super 8 round, South Africa defeated them by 76 points but the defending champions made a strong comeback with a 72-point win over Zimbabwe. And then, in their must-win battle, the Men in Blue defeated the West Indies to reach the top four.
West Indies made a strong start to the 2026 T20 World Cup. They finished the group stage undefeated in Group C. They defeated England, Scotland, Nepal and Italy.
They also defeated Zimbabwe in their first Super 8 match, but South Africa stunned them before India ended their campaign. India and West Indies went head-to-head in the virtual quarter-final, with the winner of the match advancing to the semi-finals.
