I have almost no more words and ways to wonder about what Junior Caminero is doing this year. He has just turned 22, this is his age of 21, and the only players who have done things like this are in the Hall of Fame, will be in the Hall of Fame, or only a former MVP.
Tonight he continued with the HR list of the Rays Single Season -Binden and then surpass the Insane 2017 campaign of Logan Morrison. Now Junior only looks up, bound for the 2nd most homers in a season at 39 with Carlos Pena and Brandon Lowe. The next one he touches becomes number 40 and give him the 2nd place completely to himself. Another 7 thing this year and the 46 -hour record of Carlos Pena will be in grip.
But it was not just the long ball for junior. Caminero decided to do a Chandler Simpson imitation and to be a fear on the basic paths. A stolen basic attempt brought Caminero in second place with a beam, Cami then officially got a bag of 3rd stems. At the attempt of stealing, he pulled a wandering throw, allowing him to go home to Sashay to first get the rays on the board.
But it is not the efficient basis that runs, and annoying sneaky speed that Kuikens love: it is the long ball. The home run that brought him in 2nd place was something else to surprise. A pitch about the zone and low that Caminero not only timed and reached it but raised. This is not a pitch that should end there!
In the night, Junior 4-5 with 2 hours a double and 3 RBI. Not to be surpassed, the other Former prospect of Cleveland, Yandy Diaz, Also Went deep against his former club. The rays bats were locked up in the night. You had the Seymour beating in a run. Carson Williams continued his fantastic major League start with a few more hits, including a 2-out, 2 run, double.
In general, rode reasons in 9 points, no less than 14 hits, 14 hard hit balls, 3 hours and generating scoring opportunities in abundance. When the upper exit -velo list on Savant looks like this, you know you had a good night with the dish.
Not that the rays needed so much this night, because the pitching Seymour was incredible and made his first major League start.
Ian Seymour, the first left -handed pitcher to start a competition for the Rays in 2025, made this not the only one this season. Seymour was efficient and excellent, which means that Cleveland stroke people (incorrect) and out of balance (often) guess. Not with overwhelming things, but with misleading movement and ruthless strike.
Seymour got 10 whiffs, hit the zone and gave only 3 well -beaten balls all night over his 5 innings of 1 hit and 8 k of work. The rays continued where Seymour had gone at both ends of another long rain delay.
The next hit by Cleveland would not come for a few hours and was short -lived as a threat. In the night rays, pitchers, Seymour, SPleever, Baker and Englert, only 2 hits and 2 BBs were up.
The bats and arms came to play, and not much else was needed. However, the only real threat that Cleveland had assembled was bridged by the beautiful efforts that Jake Mangum of Jake Mangum was.
The rays are now on a 3 -game winning series and watch Back -To Back series victories tomorrow. Good, complete, nice baseball – oh how I missed you and oh how I am grateful for your return to this team.
